On May 6, 2025, the Center for Research Promotion at GIU successfully hosted an online training session titled ,,Ensuring Academic Integrity and Combating Plagiarism”.
Training was conducted by Mr. Giga khositashvili, PhD in Education and Assistant Professor of Business, Technologies and Education of Ilia State University.
The training was designed to reinforce academic integrity standards at GIU and introduce effective strategies to identify and prevent plagiarism. The presentation skillfully combined theoretical insights with real-life academic cases.

- Self-plagiarism;
- Copy-paste without citation;
- Paraphrasing without proper attribution;
- Inadequate or missing references.
Proper Referencing and Source Management Techniques:

- Using digital tools for reference management
Plagiarism Prevention Strategies:
- Fostering a culture of academic honesty;
- Utilizing plagiarism detection platforms (Turnitin, PlagScan, etc.);
