Implemented Projects
The project, which aligned with the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, aimed to support vocational education for adults. Specifically, it was directed toward implementing activities such as: retraining unemployed adults; enhancing the educational level and qualifications of representatives from the business sector; developing short-term e-learning courses for students of higher education institutions as well as vocational schools.
Within the framework of the project, the following courses were developed:
- Tour Operator Course
- Destination Management
- Tourism and Recreation Management – Professional Profile
- Tour Guide Program
- Human Resource Management
- Cultural Tourism
GIU’s academic and invited staff, as well as students participated in the project. Within the framework of the project, GIU received total funding of €70000, which covered the participants’ salaries and travel expenses (€49000), funds for the purchase and printing of books (€4000). A total of €17000 from the project budget was used to fund the
publication of 10 manuals by GIU’s academic staff, their participation in international qualification enhancement courses, seminars, and conferences, and the renewal of the university’s technical equipment.
The project aimed to establish a network of cooperation among universities in the Black Sea countries; to facilitate the mobility of students and academic staff from universities within the Black Sea Basin; to share best practices; and to enhance communication between universities in neighboring countries. Students from GIU participated in the project.
The project encompassed the development of a 5-credit course focused on European integration, which was successfully completed. The course – “European Integration in
Central Europe: the Experience of the Visegrad Group Countries” was created.
