The Georgian International University  GIU  is

pleased to announce the call for applications for its Annual International Student Scientific Conference 2025.

Key Objectives of the Conference:

– To foster motivation among young researchers and encourage their active involvement in scientific and academic work;
– To enhance participants’ academic qualifications in preparation for scholarly conferences, including the development of research and presentation skills;
– To cultivate competencies in conducting independent research and delivering structured, academically sound presentations.

 

Panels and Themes:

Panel I: School of Law and Politics
Topics include:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Legal Regulations
  • Contemporary Challenges in International Law
  • EU Energy Policy and Legal Mechanisms
  • Human Rights Protection at the International Level
  • Constitutional Law Reforms in Democratic Societies
  • Geopolitical Transformations and the Evolution of International Law

Panel II: School of Business, Social and Humanitarian Sciences
Topics include:

  • Sustainable Economy and Green Finance
  • International Trade Regulations and Their Impact on Developing Economies
  • Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on the Labor Market
  • Modern Marketing Strategies in the Digital Economy
  • Gender Equality and the Challenges of Inclusive Policy
  • Cultural Identity in the Context of Globalization

 

Conference Format and Organization:

The 2025 Annual International Student Scientific Conference will be held on May 30, 2025.

Participants are required to submit an abstract (up to 250 words) no later than May 20, 2025. Submissions must be sent electronically to research@giu.edu.ge.
Papers may be written in Georgian and/or English, and must not exceed 250 words per language (see application form).

 

Selection and Evaluation Process:

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a designated Academic Committee composed of professors and postgraduate students (MA/PhD) from relevant faculties.

The main evaluation criteria include alignment with the conference themes and the academic originality of the research.

The detailed conference program, including panel schedules and venue assignments, will be published on May 22–23, 2025.

 

Publication of Distinguished Papers:

Papers that demonstrate outstanding academic quality and receive high commendation during the conference will be published in the university’s annual academic journal.

 

Presentation Guidelines and Format:

Each speaker will have a total of 20 minutes, allocated as follows:

  • 10 minutes – Presentation of the paper
  • 5 minutes – Discussion of the reviewer’s feedback
  • 5 minutes – Q&A session

The recommended length of the paper should not exceed 5 A4 pages, formatted as follows:

  • Font: Sylfaen (Unicode) for Georgian, Times New Roman for English
  • Font size: 12 pt for main text, 10 pt for footnotes
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: Left – 3 cm; Right – 1.5 cm; Top and Bottom – 2.5 cm

Participants are encouraged to use visual aids, such as PowerPoint presentations, thematic posters, or handouts, to enhance delivery.

 

Structure of the Presentation:

Each paper must include the following core components:

  • Introduction – relevance of the topic, research objectives, and hypotheses
  • Main Body – theoretical and/or empirical analysis
  • Conclusion – summary of findings and future implications
  • Bibliography – formatted according to the Chicago citation style

 

Volume and Content Requirements:

  • Title and abstract (in Georgian and/or English) must not exceed 2 pages
  • Full paper must be no less than 7 and no more than 10 pages
  • Abstract must be no longer than 250 words per language

Evaluation Criteria:

The Academic Committee will evaluate presentations based on the following:

  • Subject Knowledge – clarity and systematic presentation of academic content
  • Argumentation – depth and logic of analysis and reasoning
  • Structure – adherence to academic writing standards (intro, conclusion, references)
  • Language and Style – compliance with academic writing conventions
