Conference Format and Organization:
The 2025 International Student Scientific Conference will be held on May 29, 2025. Participants are required to submit an abstract of their presentation by May 7, 2025. The full version of the abstract must be sent electronically to research@giu.edu.ge no later than May 14, 2025. Papers may be written in Georgian and/or English, with the total text length for each language not exceeding 250 words (see application form).
Selection and Evaluation Process:
A specialized academic committee will oversee the selection of conference submissions. The committee will consist of professors from relevant academic disciplines as well as postgraduate and doctoral students. The primary task of the committee is to evaluate abstracts based on their thematic relevance and scientific originality. A detailed conference program, including the schedule of sections and venue allocation, will be officially published on May 17-18, 2025.
Publication of Outstanding Papers:
Presentations demonstrating significant academic merit and receiving particularly high evaluations during the conference will be published in the Annual Scientific Journal of the University.
Participation and Presentation Standards:
Each presenter will have a total of 20 minutes, structured as follows:
- 10 minutes – Presentation of the research;
- 5 minutes – Discussion of the review;
- 5 minutes – Open discussion and Q&A session.
The recommended length of the presentation should not exceed 5 pages (A4 format), adhering to the following technical specifications:
- Font: Georgian text – Sylfaen (Unicode), English text – Times New Roman;
- Font Size: Main text – 12 pt, Footnotes – 10 pt;
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Margins: Left – 3 cm, Right – 1.5 cm, Top and Bottom – 2.5 cm.
To enhance the visual perception of their presentation, speakers may use PowerPoint presentations, thematic posters, or extended outlines (Handouts).
Content Structure of Presentations:
Each paper must include the following key components:
- Introduction – Relevance of the topic, research objectives, and hypotheses;
- Main Body – Theoretical and practical analysis;
- Conclusions – Summary of research findings and future perspectives;
- List of Academic Sources – Cited according to the Chicago Style referencing standard.
Volume Standards for Presentations:
- The title and abstract (in Georgian and/or English) should not exceed 2 pages;
- The full paper should be between 7 to 10 pages;
- The annotation (in Georgian and English) should not exceed 250 words.

Evaluation Criteria for Presentations:
The academic committee will assess presentations based on the following criteria:
- Field-Specific Knowledge – The clarity and systematic presentation of scientific material;
- Argumentative Skills – Depth and logical consistency of reasoning and justification;
- Structural Organization – Adherence to the academic paper structure (introduction, conclusion, bibliography);
- Linguistic and Stylistic Accuracy – Compliance with academic writing standards.
