In general, the right to strike is one of the main collective labor rights, considered an essential mechanism for improving working conditions, deepening social dialogue, and protecting the interests of employees. As in all civilized countries, both the Constitution and labor legislation of Georgia recognize the right to strike; however, its practical implementation is often associated with challenges.
The guest discussed the regulations in the Labor Code concerning the definition of a strike, procedural requirements, and the categories of workers to which restrictions may apply.
He shared experiences from international practice and highlighted the main challenges associated with this process.
