On October 13, 2025, Georgian International University GIU hosted Mr. Levan Khetsuriani, Head of the Horizon Europe Representation in Georgia, along with other representatives of the program. The event aimed to share information on the grant opportunities, research initiatives, and innovation projects funded by the European Union under the prestigious Horizon Europe framework. These opportunities are available to young scientists, university researchers, and academic staff alike.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of GIU, members of the academic staff, Deans of the university’s schools, as well as the Heads of the Center for International Relations and the Center for Research Promotion.
During the presentation, particular attention was given to key topics such as the timelines for grant calls, application submission procedures, eligibility requirements for participation, and the criteria for obtaining EU funding.
Participants received practical guidance on how university researchers and faculty members can engage in ongoing and upcoming European research projects, form international consortia and partnerships with foreign colleagues, and develop innovative research ideas with the support of the European Union.
