Sinology (BBA)
Program Overview
Sinology is an academic field that studies the Chinese language and all aspects related to China, including history, economics, politics, culture, art, literature, religions, philosophical traditions, folklore, and more.
The study of sinology is essential for fostering cross-cultural communication and cooperation. It provides knowledge about one of the world’s oldest and most influential civilizations, while also offering global perspectives on China’s cultural heritage, economic development, and geopolitical strategies. In today’s globalized world, this academic discipline is particularly important, as it not only preserves and teaches China’s past but also shapes discourse about its future.
Amid China’s rapid and multifaceted development and economic growth, demand for Chinese-speaking professionals has increased significantly in the global market. Through the initiative of the People’s Republic of China — “One Belt, One Road” — more than 150 countries have strengthened their relations with China. Within this framework, numerous economic and cultural projects are being developed worldwide, the implementation of which requires the involvement of highly qualified sinologists.
