On December 17, 2025, the delegation of University of Xinjiang (People’s Republic of China) paid a visit to Georgian International University GIU. The delegation was comprised of Mr. Nagorjeman Ibrahim, Head of International Communication and Cooperation Branch and other representatives of the University of Xinjiang.
The Chinese delagation was hosted by Professor Eliso Elisashvili, Rector of GIU; Associate Professor Grigol Kalandadze, Head of International Relations Department and Professor Sopiko Tevdoradze, Vice Rector for Academic Process.
Various fruitful cooperation opportunities were discussed during the meeting ranging from the government and university scholarships to student and staff exchange opportunities as well as Georgian teachers’ training programs at the University of Xinjiang.
The parties agreed on signing the Memorandum of Understanding and continuing work on joint research, educational, cultural projects.
