On December 1, a wine tasting masterclass was held for students of GIU’s Bachelor’s Program in Tourism as part of the course ,,Wine Tourism”.
The event was led by industry experts:
- Giorgi Natenadze – ,,Natenadze’s Wines”;
- Zaza Bostoghanashvili – ,,Bostoghana Winery”;
- Ia Imerlishvili – ,,Ia’s Winery”;
- Gigi Akhvlediani – ,,Sevsamora Winery”;
- Giorgi Kakhoidze – Certified Sommelier, Brand Ambassador.
Students were given a unique opportunity to meet wine industry representatives and sommeliers in person and hear their insights on topics such as:
• Trends in the development of wine tourism;
• Challenges and new opportunities within the sector;
• Practical recommendations on how young people can establish themselves in the wine tourism industry.
As part of the masterclass, a practical sommelier session was held, featuring proper presentation techniques, evaluation methods, and professional etiquette.
At the end of the event, company representatives presented students with wines from their own production as gifts, adding a special touch to the masterclass.
